Techniche '09 in association with IBM proudly presents “The IBM Technical Contest”, to be organized between 3rd to 6th September at IIT Guwahati. The primary objective of the contest is to ignite the spirit of innovation in the young minds and to acquaint them with state-of –the-art, industry-relevant technologies thereby promoting industry-academia interaction.
The contest will commence with an Online Preliminary Round followed by an Onsite Final. The final round will see an enthralling competition between participants to test their problem solving ability and measure their technical knowledge amongst the brightest minds of the country. An elite panel of judges comprising of IBM experts and IITG faculty will judge them based on their final presentation of a case-study. So get ready to exercise your grey cells and broaden the horizons of your awareness by competing against the best minds.
PRIZES:
Winner of this contest will walk away with a Lenovo Ideapad Laptop and the two runners up get IBM goodies.

CONEST DETAILS:
Phase I : Online
Consists of 50 objective questions with 4 options.
Phase II : Written test
10% ( or 50 whichever is less) of students participated in round 1 will be selected for Phase II.Written test will consist of 30 objective questions with 4 choices, on concepts and technology focus area related to IBM products/services
Phase III : Stage event
To begin with, the 5 finalists will be handed over the 3 case studies which they can read and decide to solve one of them.The students will be given 30 minutes to understand and develop the solution
The judges will evaluate the presentations based on following criteria:
1.Innovation - 10 points
2.Technical knowledge depth/breadth/understanding of the problem - 10 points
3.Presentation skills - 10 points
Part II of the phase III will be a quick fire round of 30 questions
